No sleep option in Windows 11

I upgraded my computer to Windows 11 from Windows 10. After the upgrade, there is no sleep option in the power menu. I have tried checking in control panel to see if sleep is disabled, editing settings in the Group Policy editor, and resetting the power plans.

Hi @braydendcooper,

Did you try running the Power troubleshooter, you didn't mention it?

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Click Run associated with Power.

Hi @jayeff,

There is no power troubleshooter in my settings.

Is there anywhere else I can find it?

Hi @braydendcooper

Try running an sfc /scannow command from a "run as administrator" Command window just to make sure that all the system files are there.

In the search box on the Windows desktop, type cmd into the box and select Command Prompt run as administrator.

Yes there is a space between sfc and the / symbol. Old time computing. There is no mouse function inside a Command window only the keyboard and if you make a typing mistake, you must use the backspace key (←) to step back to the error to delete the characters and then start typing again. ;-)

Hi @jayeff,

I just ran the sfc /scannow and it says it repaired files but still no sleep option!

Is there anything I could try or should I do a fresh install?

@braydendcooper

Did the troubleshooters come back, you didn't say?

If not, then yes a fresh install but maybe try a different Win 11 ISO (if you didn't try this one before).

An upgrade from Win 10 shouldn't have created the problems you've experienced so something's not right
