PS3 Super Slim Disc Read Problem

Hello, I've had my PS3 for 11 years and haven't had any problems until about 4 months ago when my disc laser died. I replaced it and everything was fine until a month after that when I started having disc read problems. Before it was only for games, where the console would struggle to read game discs. I would have to open and close the disc drive several times before the console would read the disc. However now the problem has gotten worse, not only does the disc struggle to read game discs (although I found out its only for certain games, however those game disc don't have scratches or are dirty), but now the console won't even attempt to read Audio CD's or DVD's, while reading Blu-ray movies and some games are fine. When a CD or DVD is inserted, the console will read the disc for 2 seconds then stop, then read for 2 seconds and stop, and it will continue the loop forever. When trying to read specific games, it won't spin at all unless you open and close the disc drive and get lucky. I have no idea what the problem could be and it only started happening a month after I replaced the laser. It gotten really annoying so I've come here to ask for help. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Good evening,

That's kind of rough. Considering this has been used for 11 years straight and you as the original owner, have you thought about excessive wear on the mainboard as 11 years is a ton (My PS4 is 8 years and has disc eject problems where the disc button is doodoo). If you can, open it up (take all necessary safety measures please) and check if any dust or corroded components are present. These can cause excessive use of certain components.

Of course, i always recommend googling after you come here as the internet is filled with so many amazing things.
