issue of particles under the protector and I’m mortified.

@thelastmill Hi I have this issue of particles under the protector and I’m mortified. Water has someone gotten underneath the protector and there are dried water spots splattered all across. I want to take off the screen protector and replace it but I am by no means an expert and feel I will ruin it even more. Do you offer any sort of service to help someone out with this? If I could ship you my calculator to get the screen just popped off and cleaned. I don’t think I need a new screen or anything I just want a clean calculator. Thank you!!

@archierb We're just a group of volunteers so I don't offer a service like that at the moment.

I would be much more concerned about addressing the water damage before you worry about cleaning the screen. You don't want corrosion to occur and destroy the circuit board!

You'll need:

1. isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)

2. Some sort of towel or qtip

First, remove the circuit board entirely from the shell by following the teardown guide here: TI-84 Plus CE Teardown

Apply the isopropyl alcohol to a towel or qtip and wipe the entire board with it. You don't have to worry about breaking anything as long as you don't wipe aggressively. This will help expel any water and prevent corrosion.

While the circuit board is out of the case, you'll have access to the back of the screen protector. You can wipe it down with a microfiber cloth before putting the calculator back together.

You can let the circuit board dry for an hour before putting it back together.
