Wet ELPH 180 - now bad light meter

Got my ELPH 180 totally wet - but clean water. Dried it out over a period of 2 weeks. Camera seems to function okay except that the part that measures and adjusts for light is bad. LCD gives perfectly normal light presentation but when the picture is taken, the light overwhelms the photo and the result is not usable - close to a white page. Which part do I need to replace and where can I buy it?

@laruetou you cannot repair water damage by letting it evaporate. You will end up with corrosion and water/particles on your circuit boards as well as under components etc. You need to disassemble your camera and then clean everything with some high grade Isopropyl Alcohol or clean it with an ultrasonic cleaner.

Your cameras issue could very well be related to the CCD image sensor which is mounted to the end of the lens. Now, here comes the bad part. There are no instructions about the disassembly of your camera. You will have to try and modify the guides from here Canon PowerShot to suit your camera. It is not impossible since this series camera is pretty similar amongst multiple models. You know you got this!

While you work on your camera, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
