Games I played for months now stops spinning refuses to work

We have a few games me and my husband have already finished and recently wanted to replay them. Since we got these games, the moment we put the disc in its starts spinning and we can play. Now all of a sudden they other load until the game start menu then stop spinning and freezes/ stops working, or just doesn't want to even start the game. We also have games that did that immediately after purchase but now All of a sudden they always play as soon as you put the disc in. Our discs are all clean, almost no scratches and we even tried taking the plastic outside of and clean the lens by hand. We would like to get it to work with out having to replace any parts if possible since it's expensive where we live and not really available locally. Me and my husband are really keen gamers and would love to get our games working again. Is there anything else we can try that might work?
