No power, No blue light, help.

I tried replacing the bottom LCD screen on a device. The original screen was cracked, but there was no water damage. I successfully replaced the screen, but when I put the device back together, the screen appeared washed out and only displayed in the center. Additionally, the touchscreen was not functioning. I tried unplugging and plugging in cables, but it did not fix the issue. The device would not boot, and the charging light indicator blinked when plugged in, indicating that there was no battery present. I examined the cable connections, and they looked clean. The only thing I may have done wrong was not installing the kapton tape from the old LCD, although the console was working before the replacement. Is this my issue? and is worth my time?
