Have you checked whether or not that the scratchy sound is coming from the source of the audio signal e.g TV, receiver, computer etc or if it is coming from the speaker system?
If it is emanating from the speaker system is it only coming from one speaker output i.e. front (L or R or both), rear (L or R or both) center, sub woofer or all of them?
