The highest tier of the second generation on the Motorola Edge family. With a 6.7'' screen, 108 MP camera and 4500 mAh battery.

Why is my Bluetooth not connecting properly

There is a problem with the line of Motorola edge 20 pro that appears to appear on a certain amount of Devices, with no permanent fix or consistent way of making it happen:

Bluetooth and wifi will simply refuse to turn on for no apparent reason, the only semi consistent thing of the wifi/Bluetooth blackout is that it starts after the CPU package gets above 28°, and I have lowered the chance of the issue happening by freezing it to about 0° once, it is still happening, but it has been happening less

Hello KSA, and thank you for your time!

I am sorry for not responding to your tips, but it is because it just got worse and worse, firstly, I went to a Motorola oficial repair shop and asked them: what was the issue, if it was known and how to fix it permanently, the answer, change the motherboard of the phone, and it costed a brand new, edge pro.

And as I've said. From that point untill now, the phone has only gotten worse, Bluetooth is now completely dead, wi-fi is intermittent and the fingerprint sensor is also intermittent.

For the steps you have asked me to do:

1 - did absolutely nothing, and I do the same with WiFi when it dies, sometimes helps, sometimes it doesn't

2 - that is the most consistent temporary fix there is, everytime something fails, restart. It works for a half an hour or such, and it dies again

3 - I've talked to some repair shops, Motorola approved, and they say that this could be related to how somewhere in the motherboard there's a failure point, and it is just unsoldering itself after 28c°

4 - although I don't do it more often anymore (I am giving up on this phone, and just didn't change it cause I don't have the disposable income to just change it) this trick seems to work still, and, as I've said it before, it appears that it resolders when I do it

5 - there was a fix, but too expensive, as in, it would be more viable, intelligence and wise to trade it in for a new one, but even Motorola does not want a edge 20 pro, and marks it on 50$ for a trade in.

So to resume what I found while I was gone, it's a motherboard issue, and will continue to degrade over time, so everyone who has this issue, would have to repair, because although Motorola knows of this issue when it was brand new, it did nothing to recall or fix it

Whatever problem occurred in your mobile, similar problem is 100% same in my mobile too... I am from India. 1 year ago I bought it for 300$ (inr25000) from Flipkart. Now there is trade option in Flipkart for $70.

I appreciate your patience, and I’m here to assist you with the Bluetooth issue on your Motorola Edge 20 Pro. It’s frustrating when connectivity problems arise, but let’s explore some potential solutions:

  1. Reset Bluetooth Settings:
    • Go to your phone’s Settings.
    • Navigate to System > Advanced > Reset.
    • Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
    • Confirm the action by tapping Reset Settings.
  2. Power Cycle Your Router and Phone:
    • Unplug the power from your router.
    • Turn off your phone.
    • Plug the router back in and wait for about a minute.
    • Turn on your phone and check if you can connect via Bluetooth.
  3. Check CPU Temperature:
    • You’ve noticed that the issue occurs when the CPU package temperature exceeds 28°C.
    • Consider monitoring the temperature using an app or system settings.
    • If it consistently happens around that temperature, it might be related to thermal management.
  4. Freezing Experiment:
    • It’s interesting that you’ve tried freezing the phone to 0°C to mitigate the issue.
    • While this isn’t a permanent solution, it suggests that temperature might indeed play a role.
    • Continue monitoring and see if the issue persists.
  5. Contact Motorola Support:
    • If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Motorola customer support.
    • They can provide further guidance or recommend any available updates or fixes.

Remember that troubleshooting can be a process of elimination, and it’s great that you’ve already tried some steps. If the issue persists, professional assistance might be necessary.

Hi, I have the same problem here.

I don't think it has to do with temperature in my case.

Did you solve it?

Same here. Official motorola Support said that I need to replace the board, but there is no board for replacement. So it is a shining Paperweight.

The freezer method is temporary, from what I've seen you will have to make a full motherboard change

At the first time it did occur with me, I was abble to reset bluetooth settings and it works. 3 months later the issue is back and now my wifi also doesn't work. It's a cronic defective from this cellphone.

It's a charger problem, stop using the original fast charger and use a Pc... It gradually comes back, don't ask me how, nor if it is an actual fix... That's it for now
