Released in 2019, the XPS 13 7390 is a 13-inch traditional laptop with a 10th-generation Intel Core processor inside. Don't confuse this laptop with the XPS 13 7390 2-in-1, which is similar but has a 360 degree foldable display.

Hi Steve, Replacing the battery yourself might not have solved the charging issue with your Dell XPS 13 7390. There are a few possible culprits behind the blinking light and no charging:

  • Faulty AC Adapter: This is the most common reason. Try the following:
    • Verify the AC adapter is firmly plugged into both the laptop and the wall outlet.
    • Examine the adapter and cable for any physical damage.
    • If possible, test the adapter with another compatible Dell XPS to see if it charges it. Dell recommends using the original adapter that came with your laptop.
  • Check the BIOS: The BIOS might not be recognizing the AC adapter. Restart your laptop and tap rapidly on the F2 key during boot up to enter BIOS. Look for the AC Adapter Type in the BIOS options. If it isn't recognized correctly, consult Dell's knowledge base article on "How to Troubleshoot AC Adapter Issues on a Dell Laptop" for further troubleshooting steps.
  • Residual Power Drain: Sometimes a full discharge can help clear up glitches. Try the following:
    • Disconnect all external devices from your laptop.
    • Remove the battery (if possible on your XPS model) and the AC adapter.
    • Hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
    • Reconnect the battery and the AC adapter, and power on your laptop.

If none of these steps work, it's possible the issue lies with the DC jack on your laptop or the motherboard charging circuit. If you don't have the capability to do the repair yourself, you can take it to a third party shop.

Good luck getting your XPS charging again!

@betatechlabs I think I liked your answers before AI better. Yes, they are nicely formatted and easy to read but things like "are typically more complex and might be best handled by a professional" is always a downer. It's sort of like sending OP's back to the OEM's who really don't care for fixers a lot.

tarafından

I'm sorry about the AI I suck at writing so i rough draft it then feed it to AI. if that is not allowed I can stop. I can also remove the parts that it adds in.

@oldturkey03 Also i didn't mean the OEM i meant a third party shop.

@betatechlabs no, it's okay to use it the way you do it. Just always remember to inform people that your answers are AI supplemented. I just feel that these answers are really canned and regurgitated and never really specific to the OP. I did notice, that you do add some of your own style with it, and that is good. Just remember that you are responsible for the answer so you need to ensure that your AI is not hallucinating etc :-)

Don't lose your personality and your own way of expression while using it.

@oldturkey03 Alright will do.
