I was trying to get to the hdmi port, and pulled out the connector that held the ribbon for the disk drive. How can I fix or replace? If replace will I have the issue with the disk drive having to match the motherboard?

Replacing the disk drive PCB won't work as it won't match no longer with your motherboard. Causing that you won't be able to play games no more. So you need to solder a new connector to the drive it's PCB...
When you replace the drive it's PCB, the code no longer matches the code on your motherboard, then it won't allow you to play games. The codes are identical and "married" with each other (Drive PCB - Motherboard).
The only thing left to do is to solder a new connector on the drive it's PCB.
