Any way to solve Black Screen?

The tablet in question randomly stopped working. The screen went blank for no apparent reason with no physical damage or drops leading up to its failure. The tablet still makes sound when plugged into power but the display just shows no life. I have already tried to hard reset the tablet which has not worked. Is there anything else I could try before deeming it unfixable for my customer? I could replace the screen but I don’t want to do it if it won’t work.

@joshfriesen going by everything you have checked and tried, this does sound at minimum like a failed LCD or at worst a failed component on the motherboard for the video. At this point, you have to make a decision to either replace the screen, or to return it to your customer as "not repairable"

Of course, you can always check the components and see if that reveals if it is the circuitry or the display. Since you did not tell us the exact model for this tablet, here is the troubleshooting for the SM-P615/619

I want to keep you updated that I replaced the screen on the tablet and it now functions again. The customer in question was fed up with the issues that it was having and just gave it to me in exchange for a discount on their other repair.

I want to throw in my 2 cents on this issue. I got gifted a P615 that exhibited the Black Screen of Death issues just 2 weeks out of warranty. As it stands I've replaced pretty much everything: ribons, battery, screen, wacom sensor. Importantly when I installed remote access software on the device I was still able to stream the screen. Room temperature played an important factor in when the screen would go black. The widespread version of this issues is thus very likely motherboard soldering related, just like your flowchart and the BGA components suggest. As a matter of fact outside of maybe 5 or so parts the P610 and P615 motherboards are all but sold out on USA, EU and Chinese part sites since reddit threads about this issue have popped up over the last 15 months (At least the ones I can publically find using Google). Prices rose from ~50 bucks to 150 in the meantime.

This issue is way over my head since I don't have the necessary solder equipment. I'll unlock, wipe and sell for parts.
