I noticed this on my SSL2 also yesterday, approx 2 years old, in daily use with a line input, but rarely adjusted. Even moving the switches a little side to side causes crackles. Sometimes I would take my hand away and it would be left sounding very degraded. Planning to check if this is just the channel I use, or both. The case is dusty so I might also try taking off the front plate and using an air duster spray in case anything got into the switch mechanism

Looking for spec on the buttons as I think I need to replace one

So you have n same problem with line buttons 🤔

@tim75649 i just did an overhaul as both my phantom power buttons were activating/deactivating with just the slightest touch. I re-flowed the solder joints and sprayed a bit of contact cleaner while I was in there. The combination seems to have solved the issue. For now. Di you have luck by just using the spray duster?

Hi @petegunns

It may be better not to cover in plastic or at least not plastic that is not the anti static type.

Most non anti static plastics can generate static electricity which attracts dust.

Even if it's the plastic it came in 🤔

@petegunns

Plastics that generate static attract dust so unless it is perfectly sealed it will get in somehow.

I would try an anti static cloth covering and check if that worked any better.
