Can I replace the screen?

I shattered my Xiaomi 13- the screen is cracked and not working and the back panel glass is also shattered. Miraculously the camera glasses didnt break but the fall was hard so im not sure if the lenses survived. Is there hope to replace both the screen and the glass in the back?

il just awnser here so others may see what i was searching

i fixed the screen myself and i can say its made relativly easy
you have to heat it up (ive seen 80 decrees on other phones but that with a special heating plate)
i blasted my phone with a heatgun set to 110 decrees celcius and then carfully lifted first the back off
then you have to remove the module at the bottom(its made quite intuitive only a few philips screwes then caruflly remove the antenna cable
once that is off u can remove the module(again important that you removed all screwes located below the battery (you dont have to do anything with the battery just the screwes that you have on the lower part of the phone) also note that there is 2 types of screwes they used two difrent ones (1 hidden below a sticker) for the charging port

now the module should be free to come out(it is clipped in so it needs a little force but not much
now if u look on ur replacment screen you should see a ribbon cable(its like a loong conector thingy)
you should find the sayme one on the right side (it commes up from the other side)
unplug that

now i am not sure if i went off script that ribboncable was fixxed in the thoughhole with a small plastic pice maby you can remove that now
if not thats ok i didnt but my screen was toast anyway so me tugging quite hard dint make it worse
anyway...
i then went on to the other side again 110 decrees and blasting the phone till i can get a tool in there
again idk if i did the screen right removal was kinda messy for me (i got the glass first and after that the screen

ig its possible just to remove the glass but tbh it seems a lot harder)
then you should be able to peel it off and pull the conector thoug to this side

now to get the new one in

make sure all glass and screen remnances are gone if not you will destroy your new screen

if you have a full kit this gona be easy you should have a new gasket to put in
if ur like me and were a cheap bastard and dint get that kit ... i used B-7000 silicone glue i read thats good for fixing screens so yeah source idk dude on the internet sounded confident

i first tried o0ut if my replacment worked bevore getting messy with glue
after it did i but a thin line of glue evrywhere were gasket was(so all around exept for the speaker and microphone(i think like i said this part i am not confident i did right but dint have any problems with my fix yet)
thenput the ribbon cable though the hole and press the screen on
i dint wait for the glue to dry just pressed it in for maby 60 secs glue has a cure time of 48h
then put the ribbon cable on the conector and but my backglass again with sthe same silicone technik on
then i took a thin pice of wood the same hight as the camera bump(i used shifters so suport both parts and some paper opn the screen side(just somthing so when pressing my phone for the next 48 hours it would have ewqual pressure and not scratch to hell

i checked if its working and then i pressed it for 48...well i got impatient so it was just a bit more than 24 but you should do the full time
afgter that done my phone is fixed
exept the fingerprint sensor for some reson dosnt work could be somthing in softwareor maby i broke it idk but its no0t that big of a inconvinience considering i fixed my phone for about 60 bucks and real phone repair costs around 300-600 depending on wehere in my country id do it

hope this helps sombody have a nice day byeeee

i wanted to add my backglass is also broken but there is like plastic under that so i suspect that even shattered back glass is still watertight i just used mine again but ofc u can replace it when you replace the screen (many repair shops just do both anyway)

Here's how to address Mae's questions about Xiaomi 13 screen and back panel replacement:

Question 1: Can I replace the screen?

Answer: Yes, you can replace both the screen and the back panel of your Xiaomi 13. However, it's recommended to have it repaired by an authorized Xiaomi service center or a reputable repair shop to ensure quality and warranty.

Question 2: Is there hope to replace both the screen and the glass in the back?

Answer: Yes, both the screen and back panel can be replaced. While the camera lenses might have survived the fall, it's best to have them checked by a professional to ensure their functionality.

Additional Tips:

  • Check Warranty: If your phone is still under warranty, you might be eligible for a free or discounted screen replacement.
  • Authorized Service Center: Contact an authorized Xiaomi service center to get accurate information about the cost and availability of spare parts.
  • Third-Party Repair Shops: While third-party repair shops can be more affordable, it's important to choose a reputable one with experienced technicians.
  • DIY Repair: If you're comfortable with DIY repairs, you can find replacement parts online, but be aware that this can void your warranty and requires technical expertise.

Remember: Always back up your data before any repair to avoid data loss.

By following these guidelines, Mae can successfully repair her Xiaomi 13 and bring it back to working condition.

@vedangupadhyaya I am not sure why you continue to post these regurgitated,non-applicable and weak AI answers. Those are absolutely useless to what iFixit is trying to accomplish. You are really missing the point!
