What’s the best SSD I can use?

Good morning, it's 2024 and I want to update the disk in my iMac 27 late 2015. There are many types of 2.5-inch SSD drives, but can you tell me what will be the optimal disk for my computer now? Thank you

The limit most 2.5” SSD drives face is the I/O limit of the SATA interface. I would focus on the reliability of the drive as an example I find Samsung drives are very reliable.

@przemekceg58472 - Crucial makes good SSDs as well.

Here a fixed speed SSD is fine, if you had an older SATA II (3.0Gbps) system you would need an auto sense drive like the Samsung SSD. As it will dial back its I/O speed matching the systems I/O speed.

I've been using Crucial MX drives when I need speed and reliability and have never had a problem so far. Some drives have been running for ten years now.

Samsung SD cards however fail on me all the time in my mobile devices. Wouldn't recommend. (Sure, it's a different product but you should think that they can do both.)
