Left vibration motor automatically pulsates every couple seconds

The left vibrate motor engages (pulsates) every couple of seconds. (Vibrates for about one second every three seconds or so.) Will stop when controller is turned off, but start again upon turning controller back on. Happens constantly whether in a game or not. All software (including controller) is up to date.

Hi!

This does sound like a motherboard issue. Are any lights on? Or do they stay off?

Does any button work?

Everything else on the controller works perfectly. The buttons and lights are fine. Even the vibration works fine when it’s supposed to. It just has this rhythmic pulsation that constantly happens while the controller is on. I have no idea what is causing it

Did you tried to complete turn off the PS5 and then to try it on with the controller? Does this work? Did you tried other controllers? Do they work fine? Otherwise it's motherboard related, and thus you need to disassemble the controller to see if there is something wrong..

Something you can also do is force reset the controller. There's a pinhole on the back of the controller near the Sony logo. Take a straightened paperclip and hold down the button inside that hole for about 5 seconds. It should completely reset everything on the controller, and should fix the issue if it's a software problem. After it resets, take a Type-C to Type-C cable and plug the controller into the Type-C port on the front of the console. It may prompt for firmware updates. Download those and your controller should be back to normal.
If that doesn't fix it, it's most likely a physical hardware issue with how the motor is connected, and you'll have to open up the controller and fix it the hard way.
