My Xbox controller is making this weird static sound when I hold it to my ear. It's hard to hear unless listening for it, but now I've heard it I can't un-hear it. How do I fix?

I FIXED IT. I just unplugged everything, and plugged it all in

Hey there Thomas, are you able to hear the static when the batteries are removed from the controller? I'm wondering if maybe this isn't an electronic issue, but rather an issue with debris inside the controller.

I can hear it with batteries or when it is plugged in to my PC via a micro-usb cable

Does the controller work fine?? Could be a small component on the motherboard.. controller is up to date??

@koppie007 its fully up to date according to my Xbox, it works completely fine. It goes away if I were to press in my stick

Ah, which stick? Left or right? You could replace it and see if that solves it..
