Repair and troubleshooting information for the FixHub Portable Power Station, the primary power source and control interface for iFixit’s FixHub product line. Released in October 2024.

Has anyone had an issue with the battery erroring out?

Hello everyone,

I purchased the FixHub and it works wonderfully except for one small issue. When powering the iron off, after a while I will receive a battery charging halt error at 98%.

otherwise the iron works fine and discharges and charges as normal. Is this just a visual error, or is there something I should look into? I am on firmware 1.0.5

Thanks!

I’ve forward your issue to the iFixit product team for a response.

@danj, thank you.

@kaioshade, we're looking into it.

@krisrodriguez Thank you so much for the swift reply.

For some additional information, I am using an Anker Nano II 65W USB-C charger, with an Apple USB-C 240W cable. I have not tried any other chargers yet.

@kaioshade, you're welcome!

Thanks for the extra information. I have a follow-up question. Have you calibrated the battery? It's a button in the web UI. It's somewhat expected to have some variance up front with max charging percentages until this is done.

@krisrodriguez

I did not do the calibration when I got the unit (apologies, I didn't think to), but I did it tonight. I'll report back if it does happen again. Thanks for the info!

Mine has only been used a handful of times, and the battery has been self discharging over a week by more than 10%

I also saw that the health percent for it is already down to 89%

@omegatotal, have you tried updating to the latest firmware?

I just did through every version, now the battery health is MIA, and replaced with a setting for setting the max battery charge.

Also it appears that it is not respecting the inactivity/timeout that I had previously set to 30 minutes (its stayed on for multiple hours today after a couple of power cycles)

I just tried changing it to 29 minutes and back to 30 minutes after it stayed on without being touched for 2 hours. lets see what it does this time.
