Revamped version of the iPhone 3G with faster processing speeds. Repair of this device is similar to the 3G, and requires simple screwdrivers and prying tools. Model A1303 / 8, 16 or 32 GB capacity / black or white plastic back.

Boot Loop and battery not charging

Hi, I have used iphone 3GS model-A1303. I haven't used it for a long time and when i recently tried to turn it on it first displayed a battery flat icon and later it showed me the apple logo and then turned off. I charged it for 4hrs and still the same. So I enabled DFU mode and itunes recognized the device and when i tried to restore it posted that the device was previously in DFU mode now it has been restarted but my device is still in DFU mode. I suspect that this is a battery issue but before buying a new battery i need to make sure that the device is in working state. is there any way to find that or boot into device without battery. Thanks!

This sounds strongly like a battery issue to me. In my experience. I have never known and iPhone to boot without a good battery unless you have the ability to connect a power supply directly to the logic board (via the battery connector).

Unfortunately, you'll likely have to get a good battery in it to get it to power on. The fact that it has responded to everything else though is good because it sounds like the system is functioning properly. Just needs a good power source.
