Replaced battery. Charged once and now won't charge.

I bought the battery replacement kit here and followed the instructions to replace it. I let it charge overnight, then took it off the charger and let the battery run out. Now it keeps saying the battery is 20-21%, but shuts off very rapidly after coming off the charger.

The battery indicator says that it's charging, but the number doesn't go up, and it continues to die about a minute after coming off the charger.

Hi there!

First I would return the battery and get yourself a new one and see if this fix it.

If not, then it's most likely that your battery charge IC died on the motherboard and need to be replaced.

Hopefully it's just the battery, but 1 way to be sure..

Thanks Dan, I've received a second battery and will install it when I have time. I also ordered a couple BQ24193 (a couple, because SMD chips are way too easy to drop and lose)... I hope it's not that because that many SMD connections are gonna be quite the test of dexterity. Here's hoping!

Sometimes, software bugs can cause inaccurate battery reporting or power issues. Try updating the system software or perform a soft reset by holding the power button down for about 12 seconds to force a restart.

If you used a third-party battery kit, it's possible the battery may not be fully compatible with your Switch. Some replacement batteries may not provide the same performance as the original, leading to rapid power loss.

Thanks for the reply, but I already tried that. This battery was directly from iFixit, so I assumed it would be good.
