Not charging- bad motherboard or USB C port replacement?

TL;DR: Seeking advice on replacing a logic board or USB C port for a 2018 Macbook Pro that isn't charging before or after battery replacement.

My 2018 MacBook Pro is not charging, even after replacing the battery. I can plug devices up to the Mac and it will recognize them, but it does not respond to any charger plugged in. I've looked deeper into this model year, and they all have problems with bad logic boards (specifically no power fault) so that mostly narrows my search down. I'm looking for input on whether I should go through with an entire logic board swap or attempt to replace the USB ports first. What are your thoughts?

@odyssey55212 use an ammeter and check the voltage and amperage your laptop pulls from your power supply. Let us know what you find out.

Sure! Throwing the baby out with the bathwater makes sense… Nope!

There is one chip in this series which often fails, so if you have the deeper skills and tools to replace it, that is what I would do.

Here’s a great vid on how to test the chip (2) Common cause of no power on newer MacBooks with fix.

If not, find a good Mac repair shop as you can see it’s an easy chip to replace.
