Melitta was the german company that invented the coffee filter. Today there is a wide range of coffee makers of all kind for catering and household, accessories and coffee.

It says Tray Full when it's not.

I have a fairly new Melitta Latte Select coffee machine. It fairly often says Tray Full, but when I empty the tray, it still says Tray Full and refuses to work. Sometimes I can get it to work by poking around the back of the space for the tray with a skewer, but today I can't get it to work at all. How does the Tray Full sensor (and I suppose the Tray Present sensor) work? How do I get it to work more reliably?

Thank you - Rowan

Hello @rowan_bradley: are you sure it's "Tray full" and not " Missing tray"? As far as I remember the message Tray full ist generated by software, this means the machine only counts how many cups have been produced after the last emptying. This works normally smoothly, but perhaps it does not register, when opened. I think, it should probably be a fault in the microswitch on the drip tray. Fortunately, we have a guide for this. Replace the microswitch Cherry D44X , its cheap. Good luck and tell us, if this was the solution.
