@wizardbynight looking at the teardown it is a Phison PS5021-E21 SSD. All we need know is to have our game console Guru @dan0 verify this information :-)

Correct! It is a part from the Skhynix H25T3TCG8C.
I think Phison is just the controller, it isn't the brand. The make/model will be on the other side of the SSD I believe
@wizardbynight that is correct. But if you use the Phison PS5021-E21 as your search term you know that you are going to find the proper SSD for the xBox. It is the controller IC as well as the Memory IC that make up the bulk of the SSD and who guaranteed compatibility.
Hey, it’s not as easy at that as Xbox uses an encryption chip on their SSDs so you need the exact model not just a brand that uses the same controller. This was the case with the 1TB drive in the original Series X - it was a WD SN530 but you need the ‘CH’ variant of it
@wizardbynight you are right. You will need a drive that is whitelisted in order to replace the one you've got. Something like a Seagate or WD CH SN530
Also would love to know this. iFixit usually provide full details, not sure why they haven't - request from Microsoft?
