{A1706 / EMC 3071}—Released in June 2017, this 13" Macbook Pro features Kaby Lake processors up to 3.5 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.0 GHz.

How to fix/replace component underneath the key piece?

My E key has been missing for a while, but the component underneath still worked when pressed. Now, it’s no longer working. Can I replace just that break, or do I need to order a whole keyboard? TIA

You should be able to replace the scissor mechanism as well as the rubber bumper. Here is a source for the needed parts TheBookYard - MacBook Pro keyboard parts click on the image to dig into the different caps and other parts.

@valeriasan26150 here is the A1706 Keycap Replacement procedure. Take a look at page 2 for the explosion drawing on your keys. Although keycaps can be replaced, the butterfly and switch housing cannot. A damaged switch housing or butterfly requires replacement of the entire top case.
