2.26 or 2.4 GHz / White plastic unibody enclosure

What model MacBook is this?

The local fixer shop here asked my help to ID a MacBook they had that came in for a new display, In the about this mac it just said it was a mid 2010 model, It looked similar to a uni-body model but it had a display similar like a MB Air 13" with a frame or bezel and no screen glass on it. The lower case was a single piece part covering the whole underside, silver and aluminum but it had no info or 'feet' on it even (Was flat with no location for the rubber feet). The Keyboard was white and it had what looked like a cream white color case that covered the middle shell to the KB. I have never seen one like this, does anyone know what model it is? (I will ask them to send pictures). It was running high sierra & was not 'patched'.

Sounds like you're describing the Mid-2010 White MacBook (Model A1342) — but likely one with some swapped or worn-out parts.

Here’s what stands out from your description:

  • "About This Mac" shows Mid 2010 – that lines up with the final generation of the white polycarbonate MacBook.
  • Display looks like a MacBook Air 13" – the A1342 had a plastic bezel with no front glass, similar in appearance to early MacBook Airs.
  • Bottom case is a solid silver/aluminum panel, flat with no rubber feet or info printed – this is probably the original rubberized base that’s either worn off, removed, or replaced. The original soft-touch coating on those bottoms often peels and people replace them with aftermarket or donor parts.
  • White keyboard and cream/white palm rest – matches the polycarbonate unibody design of the A1342.
  • Running High Sierra natively – perfect fit. That model supports up to macOS 10.13 without patches.

So while it might look like a bit of a Frankenstein build, it's almost certainly a 2010 White MacBook (A1342). The mix of visual cues (aluminum-look base, Air-style screen) could be due to replacement parts or heavy wear and tear.

If you can get pics of the display bezel, side ports, and keyboard area, we can confirm it 100%. But from your description, I’d bet on the A1342.

Great answer thank you! I think you hit it on the nail, one last thing the touch pad was also white.

MacBook Unibody A1342

The store ordered a new LCD but I think they ordered a un-ibody LCD which would be different?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQWQTYkr... says it is virtually the same as a uni-body model with the difference of a plastic shell....

That’s definitely the Mid-2010 White MacBook A1342. The white keyboard, trackpad, and unibody-style design give it away.

As for the screen, while it looks like the aluminum MacBook Pro (A1278), their display assemblies aren’t interchangeable. Even if the LCD size and resolution match, the connectors and mounts are different.

If they ordered a full A1278 assembly, it won’t fit the A1342 without issues. Even bare panels need connector checks.
