Repair information and troubleshooting for the Dell Latitude E5570. This is a 15.6 inch business class laptop computer with a 6th generation Intel Core processor. It was released in 2016.

Black screen of death

So when I turn on my laptop I get greeted with a black screen, some trouble shooting I have done it trying to reinstall windows (I still saw black screen), when i press caps lock nothing happens, when I try to open bios nothing happend, i have tried reseating ram, using a differant hard drive, doing a hard reset, took out the cmos battery then put it back in, tried plugging it into moniter with hdmi and vga, nothing works,

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the screen turn on but not show anything or can you see the backlight on?

@uptempoguy the backlight is not on at all. the screen is copletely black, same as when its turned off

@heathbrown43963 check your backlight (most likely not the issue sine you also have no pictures on an external monitor). Turn your computer on and in a darkened room, use a flashlight and shine the beam at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out shadows or shapes. If you do, then it is your backlight that has failed.

It is possible that this is a bad BIOS. You may need to consider reflashing it. Of course, there is also a possibility that this is a failure of your GPU circuitry on your motherboard.
