@markdtulod make sure you have removed your screen protector and any case your phone may be in. Then do a restart. If your phone still does the ghost touching, you are having an issue with the display assembly. That is where ghost touching originates; between your digitizer and the screen.
Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this, use something like this video to work on that. Replacement displays are readily available at many online places.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. If you restart the device, does the issue persist? That's where I would start with the troubleshooting process. You can also try cleaning the screen or updating the device's operating system.
