The eMac was an all-in-one G4-based Mac designed for the education market and released in April 2002. It was the last Mac to use a CRT display and was sold at a low price to schools and other institutions.

Lack of detailed Guides

Hi All,

Just curious, is the lack of detailed teardown guides on eMac's due to concern over un-skilled work on CRT displays? Or just that no one has had time to make them?

I ask because i have about 50 of these things to service this summer so i can make guides. (My school district is so broke i'm replacing blown caps on MLB's and power supplies)

Cool, I'll be tearing down at least 3 different versions of the eMac anyway. I will see what i can get up. I've been using the site for years, i think it's time i gave a little back.

I did about three simple guides but it was on a customers machine so I really could tear it down. We don't get that many questions on the eMacs but comprehensive guides might be of great benefit to those in need and would be most welcome. Here's the ones I did:

eMac RAM Replacement

eMac AirPort Card Replacement
