Car randomly turns off while driving
Once every month or few weeks when driving on the highway, my 1991 civic hatchback turns off while driving on the highway. I have to pop the clutch and it immediately starts back up. It's a bit scary because it doesn't happen often and catches me by surprise when it happens. Does anyone know what could cause this? My 91 civic hatchback is a regular baseline model.
Bu iyi bir soru mu?
I have a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback DX with a D15B2 with a 5 speed that I am rebuilding.I had it stall on me when doing some test runs. Almost everything is bad or needed replacing so I am going to give some advice on what to check or replace.Mitsuba main relay is notorious for going out on those older models you can feel it clicking with your hand as you turn you key into 1 or 2 position on your key ignition .Also check all your fuses and also change out your fuel filter .Clean out your throttle body or if an older model with DPF Intake off cover and clean with throttle body cleaner, also check and clean your IACV Idle Air Control Valve. Also stop by an auto parts store or if you have a voltage tester check your voltage for your battery and alternator .Also check your air filter and also do a vacuum leak test hope this all helps.Your distributor also has some sensors that I believe are built into it one of those sensors may be bad so you may need to replace your distributor wires and spark plugs .
