Working SIM but no mobile network

I have a xz3, bought 5 years ago, working perfectly fine until 2 months ago. The phone can detect my sim card, but it cannot detect any mobile network signal most of the time. The sim works with other phones and all other functions of the phone are working. Has anyone encountered the same issue? Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.
