It could simply be a dirty game cartridge or your connectors inside the console cartridge slot are dirty. Maybe try some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swap to gently clean them.
Like the other comment asked, does this happen with just one game or all games? If you only have one game, it might be worth trying another.
