Microsoft's third-generation Xbox game console, released November 22, 2013.

Why does the screen go black

when the hdmi cable is connected and the console is on (xbox one), the screen turns black for around 5-10 seconds and then returns, what is the cause of it

i have some initial thought of why, but i need others opinion and also do i need the correct hdmi port for the right console or does this not matter in the same manner as the cooling fan and heat sync

Hi! Is this repeating all the time? Did you tried another HDMI cable and TV?

tarafından

@dan0 it is temporarily resolved but it will continue to go black and it is not the cable as this has been switched out and still does it

it is also loose when inserted into the port so am guessing am gonna have to swap out the hdmi port with a replacement but does it matter if it is not the same as the original or does it need to be the precise same as the original as it is only a port and not a disc drive or power board

Hi Matt!

Okay, so you did try to replace the cable but it's the same.

It could be the HDMI IC or the port it self. In your case, it does sound like the HDMI port is the issue here.

You do need the HDMI port which is meant for the Xbox One (original) the Xbox One S and One X ports are different, so those won't fit.

Please beaware that soldering is required to get it fixed, it's not a easy job to do.

Please let us know how it goes!
