Should I upgrade the RAM after I replaced the hard drive?

I recently upgraded my Macbook HDD from 250GB to 1TB. My processor speed is 2.4GHz and I have 4GB RAM so I was wondering if upgrading the ram to 6 or 8GB would help boost my computers processing power.

I understand the processor cannot be replaced, but if the exra RAM will give it more punch then I am considering buying some.

Thanks,

James
