This guide is intended to help you repair your Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Released in 2010, the X201, X201i and X201s are differentiated mostly by CPU type. The X201 has an Intel Core i5-540M (2.53 GHz, 3 MB Cache) or i5-520M (2.40 GHz), while the X201i has a Core i3 CPU and the X201s has a Core i7-640LM (2.13 GHz) CPU. The resolution of the X201s display is higher (1440 × 900) than the X201 and X201i (1280 × 800), while being the same size (12.1") and aspect ratio (16 :9).

@pelzzz90 you are not telling us what kind "of writing" you see. Most likely will be a fan error. Use the Lenovo ThinkPad X200, X200s, X200si, X201, X201i, And X201s Hardware Maintenance Manual to work on your computer. Page 110 tells you how to remove the fan. Remember to always replace the thermal paste when you remove the heatsink with the fan. Your ThinkPad is aged enough that it would require a thermal paste replacement anyway :-)
