I reassembled my right controller after replacing the joystick then I tested all buttons to see if they click correctly and they do except this stupid menu button. There is a little crack on the shell but I doubt that it's causing problems
also the faceplate is sticking out a little bit despite all the pegs clicking in

If the faceplate is sticking out, I’d take it apart again before forcing anything. That’s probably related to the stuck button.
Check that the menu button is sitting in its little guide properly and that no ribbon cable, rubber membrane, or plastic tab is getting pinched. Also make sure the screws aren’t too tight. A slightly misaligned shell can put pressure on the button and keep it from moving.
That little crack could matter too if it’s letting the shell flex out of position. I’d reseat everything and test the button before fully snapping the controller back together.

its sitting properly and i can press the button only when the faceplate is off

ok i noticed that the tighter this crack is pushed in, the harder it is to push the button
@markoloko1223 Ah, then I think you found the problem. If the button gets harder to press as you tighten the cracked area, the shell is almost certainly pushing against the button mechanism.
Next I’d do this: with the controller open, **put the faceplate back on without any screws and press the menu button**. Then tighten just one screw at a time and test it after each one. That should tell you exactly which area starts putting pressure on the button.
Once you find that spot, inspect the inside of the shell for a bent tab, misplaced piece, or crack that’s letting the plastic shift.
I wouldn’t keep tightening it hoping it’ll settle in. That’ll probably just make the button worse or crack the shell more.
