Work down this ladder and stop at the first rung that changes anything - that rung tells you which subsystem died.
1. Cool it down fully (30 min unplugged), then hard reset. The SVF14AC1QL has a removable battery (VGP-BPS34): slide the battery tab to unlock and pull it, unplug the AC adapter, hold the power button 30 seconds, then boot AC-only with the battery still out. This clears the embedded controller latched shutdown state - the most common "completely dead after overheat" cause on this model.
2. Watch the LEDs with AC plugged in (battery still out): a charging LED lighting means power reaches the board and the fault is downstream; no LED at all points to the adapter, DC jack, or board itself.
3. If it boots AC-only, power off, reseat the battery, and boot normally. If it dies again with the battery in, the battery pack may have been cooked - run AC-only to confirm.
4. Dust: take the bottom cover off (Phillips screws + a plastic pick) and blow out the fan and heatsink fins. Packed fins trap heat on this slim chassis and an overheated VRM can shut the whole board down, which fits a Minecraft session that ended in a hard stop.
5. Still no LEDs on known-good wall power: the DC-in board or main board took the hit. The DC-in board is an inexpensive part if you can measure; otherwise that rung is a repair-shop / multimeter job.
Parts references: Sony manual W0000103M and the SVF14 parts listings list the VGP-BPS34 battery and DC-in board.
