Replacing RAM still totally out?

I know it's soldered, but what you guys have done here is so impressive that I'm holding out hope that you've found some way to replace it (if needed) later on.

Thanks for the good faith, but replacing ICs that are surface-mount soldered to a logic board is beyond the scope of what we do here. There may be some brave person somewhere in the world that's up to the task, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

There are people out there that could reinstall (reball) the chips on PS3/Xbox 360,I don't know if they can do the same to the MBP

That's a good point....

Maybe one day there'll be an option that's clean/safe & relatively inexpensive.

But by then I'll probably have sold it & upgraded to the latest/greatest MBP :-)
