Background and Identification
The Droid RAZR was released in November of 2011 by Motorola for the Verizon network. Motorola marketed the Droid RAZR as its flagship smartphone to compete directly with the iPhone 4S and other high profile Android phones. The name Droid RAZR is an homage to Motorola's original game-changing cell phone, the v3 RAZR. Much like the original RAZR, the Droid RAZR used its slim profile as a key selling point. The Droid RAZR is fairly easy to distinguish from other devices. Its physical appearance is quite unique, boasting a slightly octagonal shape with squared corners and a true Kevlar back cover. Though it was originally released in black only, it was eventually offered in white and purple, as well.
