The Nintendo 3DS XL was released on July 28, 2012, in Japan, and was released on August 19, 2012, in North America. Just like its DS, DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL predecessors, the 3DS XL features two screens and comes with a stylus to use on the touch-sensitive lower screen. The 3DS XL's upper screen (4.88 inches, 124mm) and lower screen (4.18 inches, 106mm) are larger compared to the 3DS. On the Nintendo 3DS XL, the headphone jack is found underneath the D-Pad, unlike the Nintendo 3DS where the headphone jack is found in the middle of the device.
