Background and Identification
Announced on October 16, 2014, the iPad Air 2 now features Touch ID and Apple Pay, along with a 64-bit A8X processor with M8 motion coprocessor. It also features a fully laminated display with an anti-reflective coating. Additionally, the rear-facing camera has been bumped to 8 MP, up from the 5 MP shooter found on previous iPads. Apple has also shaved 1.4 mm off of the thickness, bringing the iPad Air 2 to an impressive 6.1 mm thick. The iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi can be identified by its model number, A1566, printed on the bottom of the rear case.
