Wedge the plastic opening tool between the defective key and the keyboard.
Pivot the plastic opening tool back and forth to loosen the defective key.

Grip the edge of the loosened key with the tweezers and pull upward until it separates from the keyboard.
Individual keys are designed to snap on and off the keyboard. Remove the defective key and press the replacement key firmly in its place. There will be a clicking sound when it is secured.
