+ | [* black] With the cleaning tray pushed to the REAR of the printer, removal of one screw next to the gears above where this cleaning tray track is, and one screw down low in upper right corner, will allow you to remove the black cylindrical pump and the gears. |
---|---|
+ | [* black] The three gear shafts will come out from the main printer assembly, with the tray pushed all the way to back of printer. Just wiggle the gear assembly with pump. You will need to disconnect the four black hoses coming from the tray at the white plastic connector. |
+ | [* black] Now you can see that the cleaning tray can move forward easily, and there is a slot allowing the tray to be lifted up, past a small short metal shaft, and a gear. |
+ | [* black] Now you can disassemble and clean the suction system in the cleaning tray. Use hot water and be sure that the tubes are clean. |
+ | [* black] Must check that the tubes are clean or this is all to no avail! |
+ | [* black] Be careful to reinstall the two springs on this cleaning tray unit, before you put it back into the printer, on the track. |
+ | [* black] Now those hoses into that pump unit are also likely filled with dried ink, and need to be cleaned out. You can turn the large white gear in a clockwise driection and the colored ink hose will get pumped. Counterclockwise and the black ink hose will get pumped. |
+ | [* black] You probably need to disassemble the black pump cylinder by twisting it open at the centerline, and then you can squish water in the tubes, working from each end, to get the ink watered down enough to flow through. |
