This is the most important step in the entire repair disassembly process. This is the sensor block unit. Do not touch any part of this assembly other than the screw mount flanges on the magnesium machined assembly. In this case, I bent up the sensor ribbon cable lightly. I didn't touch any surface or place additional force on any sensor block part.

Placing pressure on any part of this unit will change the sensor characteristic and and will require re-calibration and reprogramming of the sensor EEPROM. The tools for reprogramming the sensor calibration EEPROM are not publicly available to my knowledge.

It is important to only unscrew the purple-tinted screws which are circled. Do not adjust or touch the spring loaded screws on the sensor block. These screws are adjusted at time of sensor calibration in the Panasonic assembly and testing factory.

The plane of the sensor is calibrated to the plane of the lens elements or lens mount. Adjusting the tension on any sensor box mount screw makes the sensor and elements out of orthogonal alignment.

That's it! Remember to keep track of those screws!
