Grip the display cable and buckle together and insert the connector fully into the new display's socket.

Aligning the connector can be tricky. Reposition it as necessary and don't try to force it into the socket, or you may damage both the connector and its socket.

If the connector is the wrong size, you may have a 30-pin eDP (embedded DisplayPort) instead of a 40-pin, or vice versa. You will need to swap the cable for one that is compatible. You can determine compatibility by counting the pins on each end of the cable and ensuring the cable matches the sockets.
