The mirror rest dampers can also contribute to slow mirror movement as they degrade. They should be removed at this point to make sure the mirror mechanism is operating correctly. Installing a new mirror rest and calibrating the focus is covered in another guide.

Remove the rubber damper from the mirror rest seat.

Remove second mirror rest. This is a rubber cap placed over a metal stud.
