Be careful not to pull too hard or too quickly on the laptop panels in these next parts as you may end up snapping the plastic or breaking some of the connected wires beneath.

Insert your thumb into the hole at the bottom right of the keyboard area and lift gently to loosen the top panel from the bottom of the laptop.
