Stabilize the iMac

  • With the hinge free to move, the iMac will be unbalanced and hard to work on. Repairs can be completed as shown, but are faster and easier with an iFixit cardboard service wedge.

  • Follow these assembly directions to put the service wedge together.

  • If you are not using an iMac service wedge, be very careful when installing and working behind the display—it can easily fall out and break if the iMac moves unexpectedly.

Zorg dat je iMac stevig staat

Als het scharnier van de iMac vrij kan bewegen, wordt de iMac instabiel en is het lastig om aan de computer te werken. Dat betekent niet dat het onmogelijk is. Toch raden we je de kartonnen iFixit-reparatiewig aan, die ervoor zorgt dat je iMac stabiel staat terwijl je eraan werkt.

Volg deze instructies om de reparatiewig in elkaar te zetten.

Als je besluit geen gebruik te maken van de iMac-reparatiewig raden we je aan erg voorzichtig te werk te gaan bij het werken aan het scherm. Het scherm kan er namelijk makkelijk uitvallen en daardoor beschadigd raken.
