The glass on my iPhone 5 is separating from the case. I replaced the battery hoping it was swollen and that was the reason for the separating glass.

Some hairy moments, like when I accidentally separated the entire glass display from the case. Eventually I got it right, and once you're in replacing the battery is very simple.

I would say if you're replacing the battery for the same reason I did, keep in mind that you probably do need to replace the battery but it may not fix your glass separation problem. You're going to need to re-adhere the glass to the case. I'm still waiting for advice on that repair. I would also stress that inserting your pry tool in between the case and the 'glass housing' (not really sure what to call it) can be scary if you've never done this kind of stuff before (I hadn't). Make sure you're not trying to insert your tool between the 'glass housing' and the edge of the glass but instead between the entire case and the 'glass housing.' Good luck!
