Remove the centerpiece with the wheel and tilt it to the right so the spring can slip off.

Then remove the left wire by pulling it out of the socket it’s put in.

The spring here is what let’s you press down on the wheel without letting it get stuck there. It basically bounces it back up. And the wire on the left is under tension to hit the inner side of the wheel, giving the the scroll wheel some ratcheting.
