As an alternative to a heat gun, has anyone tried using a hot plate set for 190F to distribute the heat evenly and prevent hot spots that could damage the digitizer screen?

Instead of a heat gun, could one use a heat plate set at 190F. I would think you would have better control over maintaining a consistent temperature and prevent excess temp that would damage the digitizer.
