I too had a problem with MyBookDuo not powering on so I sent it back under warranty after talking to support. Enclose in the original box and then because it seemed a bit flimsy, I encased that within another box and sent it off. After chasing them up for some weeks my BookDuo was returned saying I had not conformed to their procedure by putting it in the original box, lying B*****t's. They even sent it back in the original foam (that came from my box) but not my original box but a non descript brown one. I took the hard drive out and it worked fine it's their crappy external devices that don't work. I suggest that you don't buy WD kit as at least in my case, the will not honour their warranty.
Hi, I had the same problem but when I looked into changing the batteries I discovered that rather doing that, it would work out just as cheap to buy a mid range set of BT headphones every two years. Like everyone here, I would rather change the battery but when its not financially viable I baulk at the logic. John Burns
